This play, in both Yiddish and English, explores the experiences of Eastern European Jews who survived the Holocaust and emigrated to the United States. Set in Brooklyn in the 1950s, the Brayndls family struggles to deal not only with the ghosts of the past, but also the dangers of the present—living with organized crime in New York.
