The Bishop Of Münster
A religious leader delivers a long impassioned protest against the Third Reich's racial laws and the internment of Jews, political prisoners, and other targeted groups in the early concentration camps. At the end of his monologue, the audience hears the entrance of Nazis and screams from an unseen woman. The play echoes the anti-Nazi stance taken by the Lutheran pastor, Martin Niemoller, who was imprisoned in the Sachsenhausen and Dachau concentration camps from 1937 to 1954.
