The story of a young Jewish couple who, worried about the riots in pre-war Vienna, decide to flee for the safety of an Israeli kibbutz. But following their decision, a string of events seals the fate of not only the couple, but also the family they leave behind. The play begins with the young man, Chaim, being shot at night near the kibbutz while his wife, Hagar is giving birth. It then goes back in time to discover how this came about.
