Downfall

Written three years before the end of World War II and Hitler’s suicide, Downfall presents a powerful East Prussian group still secretly in power during the Third Reich demanding and successfully causing the forced elimination of the Führer in order to allow for peace negotiations. Some have described the 1942 play as “prophetic.”
