Roses in a Forbidden Garden

Author(s): Elise Garibaldi
Playwright Elise Garibaldi adapts the true story of her grandmother, a young German- Jewish girl who finds beauty and love for a man amidst the unspeakable horrors of Hitler's concentration camps. Garibaldi lends her unique perspective of a granddaughter who has spent her childhood hearing and learning from the stories of the war. The musical portrays the endearing affection Elise has for her grandmother, Inge, as it clashes with her grandmother's disappointment and judgement of Elise's life choices.
