THE STORY: INDECENT, by Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Paula Vogel, is a deeply moving play inspired by the true events surrounding the controversial 1923 Broadway debut of Sholem Asch’s God of Vengeance—a play seen by some as a seminal work of Jewish culture, and by others as an act of traitorous libel. INDECENT charts the history of an incendiary drama and the path of the artists who risked their careers and lives to perform it.

Resort 76

Resort 76, based on A Cat in the Ghetto by Rachmil Bryks, takes us to a forced labor textile mill in the Lodz Ghetto during World War II. The play focuses on Blaustein, the reclamation factory head, and the workers under his charge. This motley and compelling crew of characters, who both live and work in this industrial "resort" struggle to survive and find hope in the face of darkness. Will the relentless oppression and starvation destroy their faith in God? Their love of life? Their ability to resist? Punctuated with moments of terror and dark comedy, Resort 76 is a poignant snapshot and compelling commentary on what could happen if we allow ourselves to forget.
