Eine Synagoge in Wassenberg
This documentary piece of theatre recreates the demolition of the Jewish house of worship by Nazi sympathizers in the German town of Wassenberg, situated near the Netherlands. The piece was developed and staged by a Christian theatre group in the town to address the community’s part in the Holocaust.
The Pangs of the Messiah
Written by a well-known Reform rabbi and scholar of Jewish religion and literature, this one-act play is set in a small Jewish house of worship in Eastern Europe during the Holocaust. Threatened with the destruction of their community, the Jews prevent the Nazis' imminent pogrom.
